... and they lived happily ever after.

Once upon a time, Eric and Shelby were cheerleaders on the same team. He was very strong, with red hair and a talent for stunting. Shelby was short with brown hair, and not as awesome at stunting as Eric (a point on which Eric disagrees)-- but she loved to fly!

Shelby's stunt partner was named Mike. They were pretty good at stunting, and Shelby enjoyed listening to Mike and their other teammate Sean banter away at practice. They were funny! Then a sad day came: a teeny tiny cheerleader came down unexpectedly from a pyramid and landed on Mike's head, leaving him injured and unable to be Shelby's stunt partner any longer L She was sad. Mike was injured, and now Shelby needed a new stunt partner!! Who would be better than Eric? No one, of course. He was the best!

So Eric and Shelby became stunt partners. It took approximately two minutes for them to fall in love. 

Not much time passed before Eric and Shelby started doing everything together. They made each other so happy J. They played around in the gym, talked all night, ate sushi, went on road trips (Shelby taught Eric how to drive a stick shift), watched The Big Bang Theory and countless documentaries, played card games, ate fruit popsicles, and spent hours sitting together on the couch (with Eric studying like crazy trying to pass his classes, and Shelby keeping him company with a good book). They simply loved being with each other. 

One day, Shelby had a bad morning. She got up early to meet Eric at the gym, but got into a car accident on the way there L. She was very sad. Eric came to her rescue and cheered her up of course, and was so happy that she wasn't hurt!! Later that day, they went to Salt Lake and ate Thai food with one of the many Groupons that Shelby had saved for them (Shelby is hopelessly addicted to Groupon). Pretty soon, Shelby forgot about the car accident altogether! They played around Salt Lake, eventually finding themselves walking around Temple Square. It was the most beautiful day ever! The sky was completely clear, the sun was shining and all of the flowers were in beautiful bloom. Temple Square was covered with colorful tulips. Eric and Shelby were so happy and peaceful walking around with each other. 

They found a spot to sit, all grassy and pretty. They repositioned a bench so they could sit in a magical place, nestled between two rows of pink-flowered trees in the shadow of the temple, with tulips on every side. Sitting in awe of the beautiful flowers and greenery, they were so happy. 

Then Eric had a wonderful idea! As he arose from the bench, he warned Shelby that she’d better not look! Walking across the green lawn and searching for just the right tulip, one caught his eye. As Eric walked back, Shelby knew something was up-- he looked a little nervous and couldn't stop smiling! Eric got down on one knee, and asked Shelby if she would marry him... 

J She said yes, of course!! Flower petals falling all around them, neither of them could ever remember feeling so joyful… J 

Shelby and Eric will be married July 29th in the Mount Timpanogos Temple, and will live happily ever after!
